Hello and welcome to my web site.

It occurs to me as I write this that there’s a big similarity between the virtual world and that of a writer. It’s been my experience that spending so much time in your own head is not unlike surfing the web, constantly searching for innovative sites but realizing that few hold as much substance as their graphics would suggest. That’s much like the world of fiction writing, for which some critics have argued there are no new plots.

For that reason, I’ve endeavored to concentrate on character driven stories, and tried to avoid getting pigeon-holed into any particular genre. It’s been my great good fortune to find a publisher that allows me that freedom, and I’ve made a promise to myself and my readers to take advantage of it by exploring new styles.

I’ve also found that there’s a great responsibility attached to each new project. There’s always the temptation to expound one’s own personal philosophy throughout a story, and although it’s impossible not to project personal bias, I always try to develop characters so that I can explore opposite views. I’ve also read enough to realize the difference between a plot line that advances the story and one that adds word count to a manuscript. The way I see it, a book only needs to be as long as it takes to engage the reader and to tell the story.

I consider myself a romantic pessimist. By that I mean it would be great if everyone’s life had a happy ending, but I’m old enough to understand that some problems just can’t be fixed.

Intrigued? Then I hope you’ll join me as I explore the intricacies of personal and spiritual relationships in my journey of self discovery. I promise that you’ll always find something uplifting in the stories I tell.
